• Khan El Khalili Bazaar – Cairo’s oldest market, alive with spices, silver, and stories. Sip mint tea at El Fishawy, a café that’s hosted poets and presidents.


• Overnight Sleeper Train to Luxor


08 Dec – Temples of Light in Luxor


• Karnak Temple – The largest religious complex in ancient Egypt. Walk through its forest of 134 columns and sacred lake.


• Luxor Temple – Built for divine kingship, this temple glows under evening lights and echoes with ancient festivals.


09 Dec – Theban Necropolis


• Valley of the Kings – Enter the tombs of pharaohs, including Tutankhamun, with walls painted in vivid scenes from the afterlife.


• Temple of Queen Hatshepsut – A cliff-carved tribute to Egypt’s first female pharaoh, with reliefs of her divine birth and trade expeditions.

10 Dec – Temples Along the Nile


• Edfu Temple – Dedicated to Horus, this is Egypt’s best-preserved temple, with towering pylons and battle reliefs.


• Kom Ombo Temple – A rare double temple honoring Sobek (crocodile god) and Horus the Elder, with ancient surgical tools carved into stone.


11 Dec – Aswan’s Sacred Sites


• Philae Temple – Rescued from rising waters, this island temple honors Isis and features Roman columns and the Kiosk of Trajan.


• High Dam – A modern marvel that tamed the Nile and created Lake Nasser.


• Unfinished Obelisk – Still attached to bedrock, this 42-meter monument reveals ancient engineering secrets.
