14 December – Alexandria Day Trip
Depart early with a breakfast box for a coastal journey to Alexandria, Egypt’s Mediterranean gem:

Roman Amphitheatre:The only Roman theatre in Egypt, featuring marble seating and mosaic floors.

Afternoon visits:
Karnak Temple:The largest religious complex in ancient Egypt, dedicated to Amun-Ra. Walk through the Hypostyle Hall, a forest of 134 towering columns, and marvel at obelisks and sacred lakes.
Luxor Temple:Built by Amenhotep III and expanded by Ramses II, this temple glows under evening lights. It was the ceremonial site for the Opet Festival, linking divine kingship with the gods.

16 December – West Bank of Luxor
Explore the necropolis of Thebes:

17 December – Temples of Edfu & Kom Ombo
Edfu Temple:Dedicated to Horus, this is Egypt’s best-preserved temple. Explore its massive pylons, sacred sanctuary, and reliefs depicting Horus’s victory over Set.
Kom Ombo Temple:A unique dual temple honoring Sobek (crocodile god) and Horus the Elder. Its symmetrical design includes twin sanctuaries and surgical reliefs showing ancient medical tools.

18 December – Aswan Exploration
Arrive in Aswan and visit:
Philae Temple:A majestic island temple dedicated to Isis, goddess of motherhood and magic. Rescued from flooding and relocated to Agilkia Island by UNESCO, it features Roman colonnades and the iconic Kiosk of Trajan.
High Dam:A modern engineering marvel controlling the Nile’s flow and generating hydroelectric power. It created Lake Nasser, one of the world’s largest reservoirs.
Unfinished Obelisk:Still attached to bedrock in Aswan’s granite quarry, this 42-meter monument reveals ancient carving techniques and the ambition of Queen Hatshepsut.
